Adega Algueira 'Amaral', Caiño , Ribeira Sacra, Spain, 2015
Another rare local variety, Caiño makes some wonderfully individual reds. Again, whole bunch, cold fermentation and aged in old oak and chestnut barrels for up to 18 months. Pronounced aromas of bramble and wood – cassis, blackberry, cedar, tobacco and spice. Medium-bodied, complex and wonderfully smooth.
Pairs well with grilled meats, slow cooked meats, cheese
