Sauvignon Blanc
Spoke 'Awatere' comes from the Awatere River Valley, in Marlborough, which is slightly cooler that its neighbouring subregions of the Wairau and Southern Valleys. There's a distinct oceanic influence here with the ocean winds helping to cool the vines at night. The dry, free-draining, greywacke gravels are equally important, all helping to 'stress' the vines resulting in a greater depth of flavour.
Awatere is a little more European in style with lip smacking acidity balanced by melon and nectarine flavours. A deliciously-reaffirmingly-juicy Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc.
Pairs well with shellfish dishes, vegetable dishes and soft cheese.
