2015 Nervi Gattinara
2015 was a warm vintage, so the wine maker, Roberto, decided not to produce and single vineyard wines, and instead blend his two best vineyards – Molsino and Valferana- into his 2015 Gattinara.
The result is immediately approachable, with beautiful aromatics of ripe cherry, cedar and violet. Silky and supple, but with that characteristic Nebbiolo edge, it is both charming and delicious, drinking now but capable of many more years. You’ll want to drink it now though.
Ideal with Red Meat, Game.
