From Algueira’s best plots in Doade, the grapes are fermented in both stainless steel and oak barrels (up to 24 months) according to each separate plot. It’s 100% Mencia, grown on slate soils which takes the grape up a level. Aromas of wild berry and balsamic lead to a palate of juicy cassis and blackberry fruit. Fine, grippy tannins and fresh acidity provide a lovely mouthfeel and superb length.
Pairs well with grilled meats, slow cooked meats, cheese
