San Vito ‘Darno’ 2019 Chianti DOCG, Italy
90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo
Located in the Colli Fiorentini area of Chianti, San Vito is an organic winery. The Darno is predominantly Sangiovese, with 10% of what was once the main-stay of Chianti, the Canaiolo grape. Canaiolo makes for a more mellow wine, with gentle tannins. Here we have a deep ruby colour, with rich aromas of wild red berries. It’s nicely rounded and balanced and on the slightly richer side.
Pairs well with roast dinners and charcuterie boards.
