Areas de Pedraneira, Albarino, Val Do Salnes, Rias Baixas, Spain 2022
This is the second of Eulogio Pomares' costal Albrainos, Areas de Pedraneira. which come from the Francon vineyard which runs down to the shoreline. Planted over 40 years ago, on granite soil typical of Salnés, the harvests are remarkably consistant, helped by the Atlantic winds and maritime climate. It's very fresh and aromatic with notes of herbs and fennel. There's gum-licking acidity, think lemon sherbet, and a long, crip, citrus finish.
Pairs well with white meat, seafood and shellfish.
