Sassella, the stoniest of the five subzones in Valtellina and probably the most celebrated and historic, creates some of longest-lived and refined wines of Valtellina.
Rock and more rock, on terraces of rock, bound by drywalls of rock. This could be the most emblematic of Valtellina wines. 50 years old Nebbiolo vines, 67 days of maceration and 39 months in barrels, vats and bottle. This is a wine with incredible finesse and silky tannins, not a heavy hitter by any means, rather a delicate creation that reveals itself gently.

Elegantly structured, the delicious palate delivers layers of succulent Morello cherry, wild raspberry and baking spice before a salty licorice finish.
