Originally from Philadelphia, where his family ran a much-loved neighbourhood restaurant, Daniel fell so in love with the wines of New Zealand that he gave up his old life as a rock band manager to move to New Zealand with the aim of becoming a winemaker!
In 2008 he settled in Hawkes Bay, and began working with small scale grape growers to produce his wines.
Daniel now has three ranges, Decibel – his flagship range – with a stunning Pinot Noir from Martinborough, and Sauvignon and Viognier from Hawkes bay.
His Testify wines are made with the cellar in mind- these are wonderfully age-worthy Chardonnays, Malbecs & Merlots from some of the finest sites in Hawkes bay, and his delightfully playful Giunta series, of which the Malbec nouveau is a current favourite.
We’ll be pairing Daniel’s wonderful wines to some of our favourite dishes, and the man himself will be on hand to lead us through each wine and share his knowledge!
Join us at ELY Wine Bar on June 29th at 7pm for an pre-dinner aperitif, followed by 3 course meal and lots of wine!
