April 23rd - Austria & Germany Part 1 (Reds) 

Blaufrankisch !!! Zweigelt !!! Spatburgunder !!! They may not be the easiest to spell, but they sure are damn good to taste. Both countries are more widely recognised for their whites, but both are producing knock-out reds, either from indigenous varieties (Blau, Zwei) or well-known varieties given a complicated local name (Spatburgunder=Pinot Noir)

What a difference a year makes. Usually at this time of year we’d be running two or three sold-out wine tastings a week, from the vaulted cellars of Ely Bar & Grill in IFSC. This year, well, things are different, but we are still committed to hosting the most enjoyable, entertaining and educational wine tastings that we can. This time though, you don’t even have to leave your house. This is how it works – We will have all of our upcoming wine tastings on our website. You book which ever tasting takes your fancy, and we will send the wines to you – three full bottles – along with some general tasting notes and a zoom link for the tasting. Simple. Because they are full bottles, these tastings are ideal for couples, housemates or just very keen individuals!

Wine Deliveries

  • Nationwide delivery - €7.50
  • Free delivery over - €120
  • Wine orders usually take 2 to 5 days to arrive
  • Wine tasting boxes are sent the week of the event
    • Deliveries take place between Tuesday – Saturday

Meal Deliveries

  • Local delivery within 45km of Maynooth - €4.99
  • Free delivery over - €120
  • Meal boxes are available for delivery Thursday, Friday & Saturday
  • Delivery available up to a 45km radius of Maynooth
  • We will endeavour to deliver on the specified day, but in some cases delivery may be made up to 24 hours prior (meal boxes have a fridge life of 3 days)
  • Order cut off point for next day delivery is 10pm (prior day)
  • Order cut off point for same day collection is 10am
  • Click and collect is available from ELY Wine Store, Convent Lane, Maynooth Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
