Tobia ‘Cuvee’ Tinto, Rioja, Spain 2019 - practicing organic
A blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha, from several vineyards which are aged between 20 – 60 years old. All of which is pretty typical of a good Rioja. Where this wine differs from the rest is that it is a blend of vintages, in this case 2019 & 2018. This practice, rarely found in these parts of Spain, enables the winemaker to produce an incredibly consistent wine, which highlights the freshness of the 2019 vintage, but adds a depth of flavour too. On the palate it’s pure raspberry fruit, juicy and vibrant, with smooth tannins and a touch of liquorice on the finish.
