We have shortened the name of this wine and begun referring to it -affectionately – as just Badass. A well-deserved name, it is a little cracker of a wine, bursting with apple and peach fruit, lemon-fresh acidity and lovely dry finish. Works equally well as an apéritif as a partner to any kind of seafood, salad or white meat.
La Salare Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Italy 2019
Quite possibly our best find of the 2020, this is a deliciously juicy, fruity yet structured Montepulciano. Packed with cherry and plum fruit, good weight and just enough tannin to keep things interesting, it is perfectly drinkable on its own, but even better with food.
