The incredible depth and concentration of flavour in these wines comes down to the quality of fruit from Bodega Tobia in Rioja. The Tempranillo, which makes up 80% of the wine, is sourced from a 40 year old plot and the Garnacha is from a vineyard almost 90 years young. These old vines provide the wine with an intensity of bramble fruit and cherry, cocoa and violet. The perfectly judged oak supports the fruit rather than dominates it, and there is a lively seam of acidity running through to the long, satisfying finish.
