Tobia 'Cuvee' Tinto, Rioja, Spain 2018/2018
Grape: Tempranillo and Garnacha
A blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha, from several vineyard which are aged between 20 - 60 years old. All of which is pretty typical of a good Rioja. Where this wine differs from the rest is that it is a blend of vintages, in this case 2018 and 2019. This practise, rarely found in these parts of Spain, enables the winemaker to produce an incredibly consistent wine, which highlights the freshness of the 2019 vintage, but adds a depth of flavour too. On the palate it's pure raspberry fruit, juicy and vibrant, with smooth tannins and a touch of liquorice on the finish.
Pairs well with with Cured Meats, Game. Grape variety Tempranillo.
